Our offer · Scoliom Managed IT

Managed IT services for schools: your software and your IT, one point of contact

Very few schools have an IT department of their own. Workstations, backups and accounts end up resting on a repair engineer called in an emergency, on a willing teacher — or on nobody at all. Scoliom's managed IT service hands the whole thing to a single team: the people who build your school management platform also take charge of the school's IT, remotely, under a written contract.

  • One point of contact — the management platform and the school's IT answer to the same number
  • A written contract — scope and amount settled after the assessment, then fixed for the whole school year
  • Remote, wherever the school is — supervision and support with no travel involved, training remotely, and on site in Morocco
Without an IT department

Three situations every school leader without an IT department will recognise

Repairs, one call at a time

A workstation that will not start, a printer that refuses the report cards, a connection that drops in the middle of enrolment: someone gets called, comes when they can, and nobody keeps a record of what was done. The same fault is back the following term.

Two suppliers, nobody accountable

The software vendor blames the network, the engineer blames the software. The leadership team ends up arbitrating a technical dispute it has no means of settling, while the school office waits.

Data without a safety net

Enrolment files, marks, payments taken at the desk: the whole year sits on a handful of computers. Nobody can say whether the last backup would actually restore, nor which accounts are still open after a member of staff has left.

What school IT support covers

Managed IT for your school: what we take in hand

Workstations

Every machine inventoried and tracked remotely.

Computers in the head's office, the school office, the bursar's office and the classrooms: an inventory kept up to date, operating systems and software updated, antivirus monitored. When a piece of hardware fails, we describe what is needed and follow the case through with a specialist supplier.

Network

A clear review, then the right people.

The state of the school's connection and network is recorded during the assessment. Cabling or network equipment work is flagged, described and handed to a specialist — we remain the leadership team's point of contact.

Backups

Data you can restore, not merely copies.

Automatic backups of the school's data, checked on a regular schedule by test restores: you know what you would get back before you ever need it.

Security

Protected machines, supervised browsing.

Antivirus, updates and software firewall tracked on every workstation; student browsing filtered according to your own rules. This part of the work draws on our IT security practice for schools.

Accounts & access

One person, one account, the right permissions.

Accounts opened on arrival and closed on departure; permissions limited to each person's role — on the school's workstations as in the management platform.

Training & support

One point of contact for every request.

Leadership, office staff and teachers report their incidents; every request is logged, prioritised and followed through to resolution, with first-response times written into the contract. Staff are trained remotely — and on site in Morocco.

The first step

Before any contract, a remote assessment

Nobody can honestly price managed IT for a school without knowing what is in it. So we start with an assessment carried out entirely remotely, wherever your school is: a 45-minute video call with the leadership team, followed by a guided questionnaire completed with your staff.

Nothing is connected to your systems: no login is requested and no student data is passed on. You receive a written review (equipment, network, software, backups, administrative processes), the risks ranked in plain management language, and a 30, 90 and 180-day action plan built around the school calendar.

The document is yours: you can hand it to your current engineer or to another supplier. The assessment comes with no commitment; it is also what sets the scope of the quote if you decide to entrust the rest to us. See how the IT assessment for schools works.

Our model

A contract for the school year or a targeted project — always with a written quote

The amount is never a surprise after the event: it is settled in writing after the remote assessment, and depends on the number of students, the country and the scope you choose. There is never any billing per student.

On request

The targeted project

Bringing your student records across, setting up tuition billing, redesigning an administrative process, an in-depth security audit of your equipment: a defined piece of work, carried from study to deployment — configuration, data migration, training and guidance included.

A one-off project can turn into a management contract: it is over time that the gap shows between putting up with your IT and steering it.

Managed IT and the platform

Your software and your IT: one single scope

Scoliom builds Scoliom Scolarité itself — the platform that runs the school: students and families, enrolment, tuition billing, marks and report cards, attendance, timetable, certificates and the family space. The team that operates it is the same team that looks after your workstations and your backups.

In practice, this means that when something stops working, nobody sends the leadership team off to another supplier. The workstation, the account and the software all sit under the same contract and the same point of contact.

It is also why we do not take charge of a school's IT without the platform: the platform is what makes the whole thing hold together. The reverse is possible — the Scoliom Logiciel plan provides the platform on its own, run by your teams. The timetable and the calendar are part of every plan.

To judge for yourself, every school can open its own demonstration platform, isolated and disposable, and explore Scoliom Scolarité in detail.

Security and backups

Security and backups: commitments you can check, not slogans

No supplier can promise that nothing will ever go wrong. What we can tell you is what is done, and how you can check it.

  • The platform's data is hosted in the European Union, encrypted, and processed under the GDPR and the regulations that apply in your country.
  • As part of the managed IT service, backups of the school's data are automatic and checked by test restores.
  • In the platform, the Backup & restore screen lets you start a backup and restore the school's backups.
  • On the workstations: antivirus, updates and software firewall tracked; student browsing filtered according to your rules.
  • Named accounts, permissions by role, and access closed on the day someone leaves — contractors included.

Anything beyond that foundation — an in-depth audit, a formalised continuity plan, documented compliance work — is priced as a project, on a quote. The detail is set out on the data security and school cybersecurity pages.
