Grades and report cards software for private schools

Teachers enter their marks, the platform works out averages, class rank and distinctions, and the PDF report card — on your school's letterhead, verifiable by QR code — is published in the family space. The Scoliom Grades & Report Cards module puts an end to fragile spreadsheets and to late nights at the end of every term.

  • Entered by the teachers — a subject × period grid, with several assessments, each carrying its own maximum mark and weighting
  • Worked out automatically — weighted subject averages, overall average, class rank, and bilingual French / Arabic distinctions (Congratulations, Honour roll, Commendation)
  • A PDF report card in the register — the school's letterhead and logo, a number in the school's register, verifiable by QR code — just like your certificates
  • An end-of-year report card — in the 3rd term, the same report card also carries the annual subject averages, the rank for the year, the annual distinction and the decision of the class review meeting — distinction and decision in French and in Arabic
  • Published to families — the parent reads the report card on their phone, and follows the marks as the term goes on in the Marks tab of their space

Everyday life without the right tool

Grades and report cards: three situations every school leader knows

Spreadsheets that give way at the worst moment

One formula overwritten, one weighting forgotten, and the averages shown the day before the class review meeting are simply wrong. The file called “term 3 marks — final version (2)” travels by email, and nobody knows which one counts any more.

Marks that arrive in no particular order

Every teacher keeps a file of their own, in a format of their own. The front office re-keys everything by hand, chases the latecomers one by one, and the leadership team discovers the averages at the last minute.

Report cards that take for ever to produce

Copy and paste in Word, comments carried over line by line, a wrong name or a wrong class spotted after printing: handing report cards to families takes weeks, every term, for the whole team.

What the module does

From the mark entered to the report card handed to the family

Entering the marks

Every teacher enters, the leadership team supervises.

A personal account for each teacher — who only ever sees the entry screens for their own classes. A subject × period grid, several assessments per period, each with its own maximum mark and weighting, with the “absent” and “exempt” statuses handled. Nothing is written before you save; periods are locked by the leadership team.

Averages, ranks & distinctions

Averages you can trust, with no formula to watch over.

Weighted subject averages, overall average and class rank recalculated with every mark entered. Distinctions awarded automatically — Congratulations, Honour roll, Commendation — in French and in Arabic, with a comment per subject and a general comment.

Class review meetings

Everything is ready before you walk into the room.

Class tables, comments and the cases to look at, gathered on a single screen you can project during the meeting.

Producing the report cards

A whole class printed in one click.

PDF report cards on the school's letterhead and logo, per student or per class — each one carries a register number and a verification QR code. Ready to print, published in the family space, or sent through family communication over WhatsApp and email. In the third term, the same document also carries the summary of the year. Each report card issued is also kept, alongside the year's marks, in the pupil's online record.

Mock exams

Your mock sessions organised and marked.

Papers scheduled, marks entered session by session and transcripts of their own, kept apart from the term averages.

Progress tracking

See who is slipping before it is too late.

How averages move per student, per class and per subject across the year, so you can act on the first signal.

Live tracking on the family side

Transparency as the term goes on.

In their space, parents have a “Marks” tab: per child and per term, the marks for each subject (weighting, average out of 20) and the comments, as soon as the teacher enters them. Read-only, in French, Arabic and English. Class rank, distinction and the verification QR code stay where they belong — on the official report card.

Would you rather keep your current marks software?

Your PDF report cards published to families all the same.

Export the report cards from Pronote™, Edumoov™ or the tool you use today and drop them into Scoliom Scolarité: each report card is attached to the right student automatically and published in the parents' app, with a notification. With no re-keying.

The end of the year

From the first test in September to the class review meeting in June

A term is followed; a year is decided. On top of the marks for the period, the third-term report card carries the summary of the whole year: the document on which the decision of the class review meeting is written, and the one the family keeps.

  • Annual average per subject — a column of its own, next to the averages for the term: the year and the period are read on the same line.
  • Annual overall average and annual rank within the class.
  • Bilingual annual distinction — Congratulations / تهنئة, Honour roll / لوحة الشرف, Commendation / تشجيعات, or a warning / إنذار — awarded on the average for the year. Not every average leads to a distinction: the report card then carries none.
  • Decision of the class review meeting — قرار مجلس القسم: the decision reached by the meeting and any observation, entered by the school and printed on the report card — for example “Moves up to the next year group / ينتقل إلى المستوى الأعلى”.

The 3rd-term report card: the column of annual averages next to those of the period, the annual rank, the annual distinction and the decision of the meeting — on a single page, with its verification QR code. Actual screenshot — fictional data.

On the family side, in the 3rd term: the averages for the period, subject by subject, read-only. Actual screenshot — fictional data.
Bottom of the Marks tab in the family space: the last subjects, one of them with no mark shown as a dash, the overall average for the period and a button to download the report card
In the same place, at the foot of the screen: the overall average for the period and the “Download the report card” button. A subject with no mark for the period shows “—” and does not count towards the average — here, computing.

So a single document brings together the averages for the year, the class rank, the distinction and the decision of the class review meeting — on your school's letterhead, distinction and decision in French and in Arabic, recorded in the school's register and verifiable by QR code. A spreadsheet can line up averages; it does not keep the register that makes it possible, months later, to confirm that a report card being presented really is the one the school issued — which is exactly what a receiving school obtains by scanning the QR code. And your front office does not have to rebuild the summary of the year in June: it is worked out from the periods already entered.

How to switch it on

The grades and report cards module, included from the Logiciel plan

Scoliom Grades & Report Cards is not one more piece of software to buy, install and then maintain: it is already built, and we configure it for your school — your classes, your subjects, your weightings, your report card templates — as part of the Scoliom management contract. Grades and report cards are part of the Scoliom Scolarité platform: they are included from the Scoliom Logiciel plan — and in every plan above it; the exact scope is set after the remote assessment.

What each plan covers: the school management core — the Essentiel plan — covers the student database, billing & chasing of arrears, online enrolment and parent notifications. Grades and report cards are included from the Scoliom Logiciel plan, and so is the school timetable, included in every plan. The AI assistant for families remains a separate service. The amount itself depends on your student numbers, your country and the scope you choose, and it stays fixed for the whole school year. Scope, data migration, training and support are confirmed in writing after the remote assessment.
