School transport and backup: two more modules

School transport routes in Scoliom, with their vehicle, their driver and the seats taken

Two capabilities join the platform. They have nothing in common, except that a school asks for both: school transport and the backup of its own data.

Transport holds the school side of the run: vehicles and their number of seats, routes and their stops in order, the driver attached, and each pupil assigned to a stop against the capacity of the bus. A round that fills up becomes visible before term starts — while a second route can still be opened, not on the day twelve children are waiting by the roadside. And when a family calls, the school office finds its child's route and stop in a moment. Each vehicle also carries its insurance and roadworthiness expiry dates, and fuel logs kept for information: those amounts enter neither the cash desk nor the families' payment schedules. Scoliom does not geolocate vehicles and does not replace a fleet-management tool. See the transport page.

Backup answers a different worry. The school triggers its own backup from the platform — before a delicate operation, at the end of a term, whenever it sees fit — and can restore from the one it chooses. A school's backup holds only its own data, and never touches another school's.

Two further capabilities arrive alongside: the year's calendar, published to families in their own space after a deliberate act — nothing goes out on its own — and subscribed services, transport, canteen or any other service the school configures, with their rate and their billing logic, joining the instalment plan along with the rest of the fees. The screens are on the screens page.

Everything starts with the remote assessment: a 45-minute video call, a written review and a road map — with no commitment.
