How much does school management software cost in Morocco? The real three-year cost

How much does school management software cost in Morocco? The real three-year cost

The question comes up in every assessment. No serious provider can give a figure without knowing the school; but anyone can know what makes up the price, and what makes it grow after signing. Here is a grid to compare, over three years, offers that are not presented the same way.

Four ways of charging

  • Per student, or per connected family. The price follows enrolment: clear at first, it rises with every new student, sometimes during the school year.
  • Per module. An attractive base, then billing, grades, the family space or the timetable are added, each at its own price.
  • A licence, plus maintenance. An upfront purchase, then a yearly fee for updates and support.
  • A flat fee per school. A fixed amount, set by enrolment band, whatever the usage.

None is wrong in itself. The costly mistake is comparing a per-student offer with a flat fee without bringing both to the same duration and the same scope.

The lines missing from the first quote

Ask for each of them in writing:

  • setup and the import of your student records;
  • migration of history: families, unpaid balances, previous years;
  • training for your staff, and for newcomers the following year;
  • messages to families and documents issued — certificates, report cards, receipts — if they are counted one by one;
  • hosting, backups and restoring them;
  • support: by whom, how fast, in which language;
  • exit: the full export of your data, and what it costs.

Card payments by families also carry a bank commission, set in the school's contract with its bank, whatever the software.

The three-year calculation

Three years is how long a tool takes to be truly adopted, and the period over which the differences show. For each offer, add up:

  1. the start: setup, migration, training;
  2. three years of subscription, with the enrolment you expect for each year — this is where per-student offers drift apart;
  3. the modules you will need in year two, not only in year one;
  4. per-unit fees: messages, documents, connected families;
  5. your team's time: re-keying, double entry, calls from families looking for information.

That last line appears on no quote; it is often the heaviest.

Questions to ask every provider

  • Can the amount change during the school year if enrolment grows?
  • What is counted per unit, and from when?
  • How and when is next year's price announced?
  • How do you leave the contract, and how quickly do you get all your data back?
  • Are these commitments written into the contract, or only on the website?

What Scoliom does

A fixed monthly fee per school, set by bands of 100 students: nothing is charged per student, per connected family or per document issued. The amount, agreed in writing after the remote assessment, does not change during the school year, even if enrolment grows. Setup, data migration and training are included from the Scoliom Essentiel plan; with Scoliom Logiciel they are optional, costed in the same quote. Next year's amount is announced in writing at least 60 days before the end of the contract, and your data can be exported at any time. All of this is in our written commitments, carried into the contract.

Everything starts with the remote assessment: a 45-minute video call, a written review and a road map — with no commitment.
